It’s Super Saturday – Breeders Cup preps abound with many stakes at Belmont and Santa Anita today. The races will come into a better focus once the dust settles. The main track at Opening Day at Santa Anita was unusually deep and sandy leading to a parade of front running winners. The turf is perfect so those races will be unaffected.

Saturday’s Free Pick is ~ race 10 – #5 Fort Larned – this horse has really blossomed this year under the tutelage of Ian Wilkes. His races are superior in every way and he has the most deadly running feature – speed. His races are far and away the fastest ones run of any competitor in this field. I expect him to explode around the turn, open up at the top of the stretch, and hold off the Mott horses for victory.
