Keeneland race 5 – #4 SPARTACUS – This Todd Pletcher trained son of Curlin was very well meant in his debut and the barn was betting. I liked another that afternoon who turned out to be the winner, Cannaletto, who has tremendous ability and I think is a Top 5 colt in the 3 Yr Old division. The 3rd place finisher return to crush his competition next out. Spartacus that day was involved in a three way speed duel for the early lead on the inside when the rail on the dirt course seemed like it was three feet deep, nobody won on that rail for months. He rebounded with his best work yet and should be much better 2nd time out. He’s 6/1 on the Morning Line and gets Flaven Prat in the saddle. Down the road.
